‘Dark Knight’ sets opening record

It’s nice to see a movie live up to it’s hype for once. Batman “The Dark Knight” sequel to 2005’s Batman Begins had a great opening weekend with first day sales of $66.4 million. It beat out the opening day of Spiderman 3 which brought in $59.8 million. It’s total for the weekend according to a Warner Brothers executive is $155.34 Million.(Updated :official tally for the weekend. $158,411,483) Giving the Dark Knight the biggest opening ever. I also think that it’s going to do much better in the long run compared to Spiderman 3. Unlike that hype train this is actually a good movie. Heath Ledgers performance as the Joker is truly Oscar worthy. (more…)
